Half knikkebollend, in slaap gewiegd door den langhen reys, gleed den ouden veerboot door het donkere moeras. Den mist lag zwaar over het water en geen geluid was te horen, behalve het gezoem van muggen en het gekraak van de lange rij zwarte veerboten die zich een weg baanden door het verraderlijke terrein. Voor hen strekte zich nog kilometers van hetzelfde zwarte water, explosieve gasbellen en verzwelgende wierclusters voor zich uit. En aen den horizon, half opdoemend uyt het duyster: Moerseynde.

Wanneer? Vrijdag 27 juni 2025 vanaf 18u tot zondagochtend 29 juni 2025.

Half nodding, rocked to sleep by the long journey, the old ferry slid through the dark swamp. Fog lay heavy over the water and not a sound could be heard except the buzzing of mosquitoes and the crackling of the long line of black ferries making their way through the treacherous terrain. Before them stretched miles of the same black water, explosive gas bubbles and swelling clusters of weed. And on the horizon, half looming out of the darkness: Moerseynde.
